Jessica and I undertook the responsibility of cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year for her family. We knew we would have leftovers, but I don’t think we had any concept of just how many leftovers we would have.
I have enough photos to get us all banished for gluttony.
The menu was:
- Grilled Turkey Breasts, marinated with Sage and Freshly Cracked White Peppercorns
- Stuffing with Sausage, Vegetables, and Fresh Herbs
- Mashed Potatoes (The secret? Two sticks of butter and two blocks of cream cheese!)
- Green Bean Casserole
- Rolls
- Gravy
- Apple Pie
- Cranberry Infused Cheesecake
Click any picture to enlarge. This amount of food was for five people, mind you.
It was ridiculous. Total calorie count was in the millions. Jessica and I ate and ate on leftovers until yesterday evening. Now, it will be retired.
We’re starting our diet. Wish us luck.

Comments:
In accordance with the starting of said diet, last night we had to discard some leftovers.
Pie, mashed potatoes, stuffing — all of the really bad stuff — had to go. Like brave little soldiers.
I refused to throw away any cheesecake, though. I finished that one up.
Dinner was great!! We have decided to make it a permanent annual occasion! Will bring ice-cream.
Looks like I will be inviting myself to your T-giving next year and inciting my TryptophanComaâ„¢
You should’ve come. It was rockin’.
