Jessica and I are starting to get into the swing of things. It’s rapidly coming together. Our whole goal was to knock out the big things as fast as possible and then deal with the inevitable minutia as it arises.

We’re getting on the big ones fast. Even I’m impressed.

The critical elements (in my mind) are:

• Location for Ceremony and Reception: Secured - more than half of money paid
• Catering for Reception: Secured - deposit paid, overall bill about 30% lower than anticipated
• Photography: Working on it. Been meeting with vendors. This is a tough issue, because Jessica and I both agree it should be a priority, something we’ll sacrifice other options to achieve.
• Announcements / Invitations: Brought in a big gun. Dave has agreed to donate his time and expertise to the project. He and Jessica have worked out a great concept (I will provide any manual labor).
• Flowers: Under control. The main parts have been secured (most of the work to be done in advance) and Jessica is hard at work negotiating the remaining line items.
• Rehearsal Dinner: My Mom and Dad are on the case. Here’s guessing that the conversations about that will be fun.
• Music: We’ve met with one overpriced DJ and tonight we’ve got an appointment with a harpist.

With nine months to go, I’ll take that sort of progress. We’re not letting up, however.
