We’ve stumbled for the first time with wedding stuff. Not really any forward progress happening. Other things have taken over. We’re still well ahead of schedule, but wanting to go ahead and regain the momentum we had earlier.
We’re moving forward, but not with the ferocity we previously displayed. Let’s call it one of those “Still water runs deep” things.
Jessica and Mary have been working on florists. The two ladies setup a screening process to immediately remove florists that are either too expensive, unqualified, or otherwise shady (we’ve seen all three) from consideration. Things are coming along well, and we may have identified a candidate.
Dave is eagerly awaiting me to finally pick a paper so we can start designing and printing. I feel guilty about holding him back. He’s not only donating his time (along with all of the expertise, skill, and talent that comes with that), but he’s waiting on me. Unacceptable. I need to get busy with that.
The priority now is the “Save The Date” cards. Since lots of family will be coming in from out of town (specifically those from international waters), we want to give them plenty of advance notice.
We’ve spoken with a nice lady who was trying to set us up with music. She was recommending a harp/flute combo for the ceremony and ‘cocktail hour’ and a DJ for the reception. She took our proposed budget and immediately overshot it. We might have a possibility of renegotiating, but I think we’re just going to look for someone else.
Our photographer has been located, booked, and is almost completely paid off. The magnitude of that last statement is monumental.
We’re getting there.
